We’re thrilled to announce that we are sponsoring one of our own FHT members for the upcoming London Marathon on Sunday 21 April.
Ruth Carter, a sports and massage therapist with FHT since 2016, has embarked on an inspiring journey. She began running the ‘Couch to 5k’ training plan during lockdown to stay active, and since then, she’s completed several running events, including multiple half marathons.
Currently, Ruth is training to tackle the London Marathon in April 2024. Her participation aims to raise funds for MACS, a small national charity dedicated to supporting families of children born with specific eye impairments.
MACS plays a crucial role in the lives of thousands of families across the UK, providing invaluable peer support, practical assistance and life-changing activity trips. With an estimated 114 babies born with complex eye conditions each year in the UK, MACS’ work is more important than ever in providing holistic support to these families.
Ruth’s dedication to her training and fundraising efforts is commendable, especially as she continues to run her own business, Regenerate Sports Therapy and Massage, in North Devon.
